So, what is Rat-Patch?
Rat-Patch is enhanced patch pipe lining, designed to prevent rats from accessing buildings through redundant pipes. Rat-Patch creates a permanent barrier between the rats and the building cavity – keeping rats out and customers happy.
How it Works
It is common to have old pipework running below new building extensions, providing a gateway for rats to enter buildings. As we know, rats are very opportunistic and will seek out any cavity in their quest for warmth and food - once inside they can be difficult to remove!
Designed and developed by Re-Tec, Rat-Patch is a proven barrier against rats infiltrating redundant drainage systems. Re-Tec have further modified the tried and tested patch-lining product to make it 100% rat-proof.
This is thanks to the addition of a stainless-steel membrane, wrapped around the lining and cured in place - forming a hardened rat-proof barrier over the pipe connection. Any rat attempting to infiltrate old pipes will be faced with an impenetrable barrier, forcing them to turn around. Try as they might, rats are unable to gnaw their way through our product - great news for any one worried about problem rats.
Product Specifications
Rat-Patch is specifically designed for disused pipes.
- The standard size of a patch kit is 600mm long.
- The stainless-steel mesh is 300mm long and placed at the centre of the patch, leaving 150mm of material on either side.
- The mesh part of the material is placed over the junction of the disused pipe causing the pipe to be permanently blocked off and keeping the rats out.
