What We Did

Derby is the third largest city in the East Midlands and has a population of over a quarter of a million people, inhabiting in excess of 110,000 homes. Derby City Council depot is situated on an old WW11 army base and contacted Draintech as the depot is regularly prone to flooding which needed investigating to understand the route cause.

Sewer mapping involves the systematic recording and documentation of underground sewer systems, including pipes, manholes, and related infrastructure. This process involves surveying using CCTV cameras to create accurate maps and diagrams. These maps serve crucial purposes in urban planning, infrastructure maintenance, and emergency response. By providing detailed information on the layout, size, and condition of sewer networks, sewer mapping helps both commercial and domestic properties manage their infrastructure efficiently, detect issues such as leaks or blockages, and plan future expansions or repairs. It’s an essential tool for ensuring public health and environmental protection.

The Result

Draintech using it’s state-of-the-art CCTV survey equipment along with its superior Rioned Jetters was able to carry out a comprehensive CCTV survey which identified the location of all storm and foul drains including depths, pipe size, locations and overall condition of existing pipework. Subsequently a full site plan to was completed which included measurements of all building perimeters & surrounding areas.
